These films all share an intention to wander by breaking the boundaries of the ordinary. They explore themes of fear, liminality, and transformation. Drift is present in these films through the lens of existing in the present moment and opening paths with conviction. Whether they portray extreme sports, dance, traumatic experiences, or the flow of melting ice, these films have in common that they take a close look at the embodied transformation that happens through letting go of predetermined structures.

PROGRAMME:

FEUERWERK
Timothy George Kelly, 20'

On the last day of the year, Berlin is in chaos and fire, and temporary anarchy reigns. With its citizens and explosions interchangeably in the foreground, this film sets out to document it, in all its beauty and ugliness, before it's gone forever.

I WALK WHILE GLACIERS MELT
Lucía Lambarri Barberis, 9'

This visual essay combines animation and live-action footage to guide the audience through the Andean mountains and snowy peaks of Cusco, Peru. The film reflects on the director’s walking as a means to embrace life’s fragility and constant transformation. It revisits Andean relational animism, rituals, miniatures, and pilgrimage to question modernity and our place in an era of melting glaciers, while celebrating the shared journey with others.

DICIEMBRE
Diego Poncelet, 20'

Ever since Diciembre rode his skateboard down a Medellín highway, a question has been heard again and again: What kind of person would do this? Through a trip to Mallorca, this short film explores a philosophy centred on what the young and daring skateboarder calls his madness, which does not fear death, but rather a life without risk.

VEVEY
Louise Boer, 32'

Vevey is an audiovisual album film by Clay Kin, capturing improvised performances by musicians Julian Sartorius and Dan Nicholls in the open landscapes of Vevey. Blending environmental sound with Louise Boer’s dreamlike visuals, it becomes a meditative reflection on place, listening, and the fleeting nature of music.
