The Blue Kaftan

A Moroccan family practices a traditional craft: husband Halim sews ornate kaftans by hand, while wife Mina interacts with customers. In the days of mechanized production, it does not pay at all, but this work brings joy to their souls and meaning to their lives. One day, a young guy, Yusef, who knocked on their door, upsets the settled waters and stirs up carefully hidden family secrets.

This gentle film delves into the issues of honesty, loyalty and intimate agreements between people, and the characters enchant with their sincerity and courageous kindness to others. The trio's efforts to live a normal life seem endearing, even old-fashioned, and occasionally tear-jerking.
